Lactate Testing

Tired of doing 20 minute tests every few months to discover how much progress you’ve made? Well, it turns out there is a better way that the best athletes and coaches in the world have been making use of for years. And one that is far more accurate and paints a more complete picture of where your fitness is currently at.

With lactate testing, we can establish an athlete’s profile which tells the story not only of your aerobic fitness, but also of your anaerobic capacity. Only by considering the values of your MLSS( Maximal Lactate Steady State) against your MLC( Maximal Lactate Capacity), in conjunction with your LCR( Lactate Clearance Rate) can we determine where your strengths lie, where you have made improvements and by how much, and what areas need work.

What you get:

  • pre-meeting where we discuss the process and how to prepare for the test
  • 90minute testing session on a date that works for you
  • post testing report explaining the values, your areas of strengths and recommendations on how to improve your areas of weakness

What you need:

  • the ability to not drink caffeine on testing day!
  • a bike to test on
  • some idea of your current power numbers, or speed on a climb so we can estimate

Pricing depends on how many sessions are booked. It is recommended that you complete testing every 3-4months in order to track progress over the year.
